In 2010, Heine Jones refurbished signage at two key Wilsons Promontory National Park visitor nodes.

At the southernmost tip of mainland Australia, Wilsons Promontory National Park is easily accessible and offers spectacular mountain, rainforest, bush, beach and coastal scenery. Internationally famous for bushwalking, ‘the Prom’ offers a range of accommodation choices, from camping to wilderness retreats.

Tidal River and Yanakie are the Park’s two main entrance points, and the existing visitor node signage at both was targeted for refurbishment. To establish the sites’ communication requirements, HeineJones’s conducted an initial site audit and held stakeholder consultations.

Our multimedia solution informs and educates both first-time visitors and Prom regulars. We developed an integrated LED system at the Park’s official entrance at Yanakie, and an LCD monitor at Tidal River’s Visitor Centre. Both offer easily accessible and current venue information, and allow Parks Victoria to operate a clear and relevant information-provision system for Prom visitors.
